The Marketing Education Program is a Career Tech program at the main campus of Lancaster High School. The program is designed to provide an overview of business, marketing, entrepreneurship and management. However, the program is NOT solely for students pursuing business careers. In fact most students in the program hope to work in other fields such as education, medicine, law and the military. So WHY do so many students with different career paths enroll in marketing??? Because the program is designed with the mindset that the STUDENT IS THE PRODUCT; a product that needs to be marketable to future colleges and employers. This is accomplished through a learning by doing approach. Within the program students collaborate with community members, industry professionals and mentors in their desired career field. Students also work together in large projects that require them to sharpen and assess their own leadership, communication and other employability skills. So while students are learning about business and marketing they are also learning how to best market themselves and build an outstanding resume.
Multimedia is a Career Technical Program at Lancaster High School that provides junior and senior students with an education in photography, videography, graphic design, and screen printing. Students enter the program their junior year and will spend the entire year in a three period block learning environment at Stanbery Career Center. Upon completion of their junior year, students will return their senior year to the same location and the same learning environment. Over the two years in the program, students will learn through hands on learning experiences that will allow them to create products that will have real world application, such as taking senior photographs, making promotional videos, designing posters, stickers, and artwork for apparel, and screen printing on apparel. Multimedia is a great program for any student interested in the multimedia field, photography, design, screen printing, or just wants to learn something new in a hands-on environment.
